At a time when the view of Islam in the West is so often distorted and simplistic, Desperately Seeking Paradise—self-mocking, frank and passionate—is essential reading. "Intoxicating upon finishing the book, I turned back and started reading it all over again."—Kamila Shamise, New Statesman. Desperately seeking What was one of the most memorable moments of Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine? The audiobook t was unique and funny! It's a story about one woman's life and her afterlife! About going back to a time that meant the most to you! In Bonnie's case it meant going back,it meant remembering her life with Peter, her husband.
Some people receive the Call to Adventure, but others are left waiting by the phone.. Some will be lucky enough to quickly find a thing they can do. There are others who have to search a little bit more. The person who is Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life is searching for what they could be good at or what would spiritually satisfy them and will try every possibility, even the most. Desperately Seeking Roommate is an excellent book told from a dual perspective, which I love. This story is low in angst BUT romantic and so funny, sweet. Whilst reading this book I found myself holding my hand to my chest because my heart was just exploding with all the joy within the pages/5(26).
“My belated introduction to Castle’s humor (I had read her academic book The Apparitional Lesbian eons ago) came with ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’, about her friendship with Susan Sontag. Of course part of the point was Castle boasting about her acquaintance with Sontag, but this was shellacked by such a glossy coat of self-deprecation. This book was filled with romance in the real sense of the word and not just lustful scenes that is suppose to be passed off as romance. Romance books should always be about tugging heartstrings and growing emotions between the characters and this book had that in spades. Extra bonus is that the book was also funny and sweet at times.
